Out and About in Cajamarca

This is a little Peruvian lady at the top of Santapolonia. From there you can see most of Cajamarca city.

We went to Alonzo's farm and checked out his Cuy (that means ginni pigs). They eat Cuy in Peru. We haven't tried it yet, but I have a feeling that we will eat some before we leave. Alonzo keeps hinting at it.

This is one of our little students from the public school.

This is the first time that we rode in a Combi (it is a really little bus). We took a ride to Otuzco. It was fun but when we got out of the bus my left leg was dead. Those buses were not designed for gringos gordos.

This was the swinging bridge in Otuzco.

This guy ran the a christian cooperative. They have this amazing zoo in the mountains. There are some really great pictures of animals that we will post later on.

That me just chillin at the zoo.

Alonzo is steady at the wheel.

This is people in the market buying and selling chickens. They had bags of Cuy that were alive. Ava wanted to set all of the animals free. We had to hold her back.

These are some of our students in the public school. They are really funny. They kept trying to get us to let them turn on the radio and dance.

This was a little girl on the street selling some food. I kept wanting to get some but everyone says that it would kill me. We will be in Cajamarca for another week and then we will be making our way to Cuzco with a couple of stops on the way.
